Hey! Welcome to our Barbarian Best Speed Farming Builds Guide. All I can say is these days it’s “SPIN 2 WIN”. Raekor based speed farming is now OBSOLETE, IMO, replaced by the brainless playstyle, one-button ownage of Whirlwind based builds. We will archive Raekor Speed builds in Page 2.

We suggest you read these resources on speedfarming:

Help! I can't use those skills because they're from the same category! (Turn On Elective Mode)

If you’re not allowed to put two skills on your bar because they’re from the same category – FEAR NOT! This isn’t a bug or a permanent in-game restriction. You simply have to CHECK ON ELECTIVE MODE, via Esc > Options > Gameplay > Elective Mode!

Binding Force Move to Mousewheel up & down is a value change that every player should make IMO. It prevents misclicks and skill misfires, and forces you to move to where otherwise an enemy might be.

Quick notes: A notable difference is that Wastes builds want a lot more CDR, especially if you use the same set for GRifting. These rolls generally apply to both builds – more specific notes below (especially for weapon). Area Damage on gear ain’t so good in TXIII or less content.

Barb Speedfarming builds Options, Notes & Reroll FAQ

Which build is better? IK WW or Wastes WW?

Each set definitely has pros and cons. I chose IK WW as the “base” set because it’s super easy to build up. It also has no strict CDR requirements and such.

Of course there are obvious exceptions, for example, if you’re tryharding and have an augmented Wastes set? Use that of course!

Either way, the difference between these builds is minimal and both are very capable of some stupid speed farming for you barb.

Rerolling your weapons...

For IK: Go ham with DAMAGE%, or recovery stats. The only reason you’d want CDR is for some hybrid Ignore Pain-Mob Rule group build. Just “do whatever you want”. But strictly for speed farming, DMG% is not a bad choice.

For Wastes: you might want CDR because if you ever tryhard with this set, you’d want your ancient with CDR on it. Otherwise just get “any” acceptable stat.

Life per Fury Spent, Life per Hit? These are always welcome. They’re super noticeable especially for the IK build which lacks Blood Funnel and Ignore Pain-Ignorance is Bliss. I’d say they’re much more important to have with the IK setup.

Area Damage is generally poor for any build that you don’t plan on going super high up on the GR’s with.

Legendary Gem Options

Boon of the Hoarder is your “open” slot and if you’re looking to farm GR’s or increase your rift speed, you can replace it with another offensive gem. It’s never bad to have Bane of the Powerful on hand as an ‘everyday’ replacement.

For IK: Use whatever the hell you want in place of Hoarder! Go crazy with Mirinae, Teardrop of the Starweaver. Or Wreath of Lightning for more speed! The base damage increase of IK6 is massive – these gems WILL do some semblance of real damage. But again, Powerful is always a comfort choice.

For Wastes: Lemme tell you my secret – GOGOK OF SWIFTNESS IS YOUR SECRET WEAPON. It takes care of your difficult CDR, gives a flat 15% ASPD (which would otherwise only be on after 5x bleeding enemies via Pain Enhancer) and some dodge. I find that for speedfarming or lower difficulty content, Gogok > Pain Enhancer.

What happened to Charge / Raekor Speed Farming!?

Wastes is just “better” at everything. The base movespeed is just godlike, you don’t press too many buttons. Ultimately, their speed in farming is comparable… but my personal preference (and I, 100%, think it inches above R4 in speed). It’s still viable, I just don’t like the playstyle. 1. Everything I’m finding says that kanai powers and items do not stack, what’s the point of having the skull grasp item and kanai power?

  2. Hey there, big thanks for this guide. Gems aren’t mentioned though, I was wondering which one I should use. I’m guessing obviously Green on weapons and Blue on helm, but what about chest and legs pieces ? Blue for AR or Red for Str ?

  3. Hi there. With regards to the IK6 speed farming build, how do you have the skills list mapped onto a mouse button? (i.e. only 1 of those, whirlwind, works on my right click. I can’t activate any of the others on my left)
