Eiyuden Chronicle Walkthrough Part 2

Part 2 of our Eiyiden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes Walkthrough. Main quests included are: The Watch Captain’s First Job.

Welcome to Part 2 of my Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes Walkthrough. Part 2 deals with the following main story quests: The Watch Captain’s First Job. Let's get into it! If you've somehow gotten here by mistake, check the "main hub" of the Eiyuden Chronicle Walkthrough.

I'm only gonna talk about one quest here, "The Watch Captain’s First Job", since there's quite a bit going on.

Quest: The Watch Captain’s First Job

Location: Eltisweiss

Right here at the "inn", you first unlock the Advanced Battle Planning system - which is HOW your team functions when you use the "Auto" battle command. I suppose I can talk about this in another guide as it's quite involved.

Upstairs, there's a Key Item: Faded Book, Chapter 19 on the far left room 2F.

Out in the town, you'll have a bunch of new NPC's you can visit. The most useful are the Smithy - which is basically how you upgrade weapons. You don't buy them.

Feel free to resupply with items and buy new equipment before you venture forth.

Your current objective is to "recruit more people to the watch"
without any specifics. Here's all the people you can recruit right now:

Summary of potential recruits

  • Iugo at Eltisweiss
  • Mellore starts at Eltisweiss
  • Kuroto starts at Alteverden
  • Francesca at Alteverden
  • Yusuke at Fort Xialuke
  • Yume (and Friend) at Werne
  • Gigina at Arenside (I'm unsure if you can get Gigina this early...)

    • You want to recruit as many / all of them BEFORE you proceed to Redthroat Ridge. Multiple recruits have prerequisites there so you might as well get it all done in one shot.

    From here, including Eltisweiss you literally want to go to every place in the map.

    Eltisweiss

    Recruit Iugo: At the east side of town there's one building (with a slim path leading up to it). Just talk to him and he's in!

    Recruit Mellore (start): You can see Mellore twice before you leave Eltisweiss near the "main plaza". I don't think you can miss this as you exit town.

    Alteverden

    Recruit Kuroto (start): At the southeast side of Alteverden, he asks you to kill 3x Wild Boars in Redthroat Ridge before he joins

    Recruit Francesca: Northeast side of Alteverden. Just some cutscenes, and she's in!

    Werne Village

    Recruit Yume (start): Southwest side of town, talk to the grandma that says she's looking for her grandchild Yume. Coincidentally, she's gonna be at Redthroat Ridge.

    Fort Xialuke

    Recruit Yusuke: Just some cutscenes to recruit him. Since you need to walk past the gate back into Arenside, I really don't see how anyone can miss this guy.

    Arenside

    The first town you were in! You can unlock fishing by talking to Huang at the west side of the village.

    Recruit Gigina(?): I honestly don't know if you can recruit Gigina this early, but check it out. She's at the left of the entrance. If she is here, then just talk to her and that's that.

    Once you're ready, gear up, stock up on items, then
    head on over to Redthroat Ridge on the west.

    Redthroat Ridge

    No meaningful puzzles or loot here, and easy enough to explore.

    Boss: Nerthus

    Extremely frustrating mechanic… it’s pure RNG. Attack the hammer you think it’s “closest to”. Succeeding does massive damage and has a chance to stun it. Fail and he gets to attack… which can be DEVASTATING. The double rock attack can oneshot you.

    I initially did this with Mellore as my only recruit, and that was ROUGH.

    Return to Ymir in Etelweiss

    Once youre done with all your recruits and Redthroat Ridge, go back to the "inn" and report back to Ymir to progress the story.
