Smashing rocks gives some Paldium Fragments. Smack the basic rock formations with a Pickaxe (or punching with your fists) gives Paldium Fragments - but much more Stones. You get 1 Paldium Fragment per 5 Stone or so.

Mainly, the production building Crusher will be your first supplementary source of Paldium Fragments. The recipe uses good old basic Stones, and turns them into Paldium Fragments (Not 1 to 1, of course, but you'll have lots of stone lying around...)

Operating the Crusher requires a Pal with Watering work capability. Early on, the cute and trusty Pengullet is your Pal (penguin) for the job.
