Stone Gathering in the Early Game, or when JUST starting

New Palworld? Just spawned? You can pick up Stones from the ground. They look like, well, small stones... If you need more - go ahead and punch large rock formations. It's slow, but don't worry you won't be doing this for long.

You might want to use your first few bits of Stone to craft a Stone Pickaxe from a Primitive Workbench (among other tools).

Using a Pickaxe to hit rocks is the "basic" Stone gathering method. You'll be doing this for quite some time, heh. So remember to break some rocks every now and then to get a nice stockpile of Stone.

Mahiko San's PAL-tip: Finding a Pal with the "Mine Foreman" trait will
increase your Stone gathering rate passively.

Investing points into Pickaxes in the Technology Tree (up to a point) is pretty worth it, since it is the most "basic" form of Stone gathering...

Stone Gathering in the Midgame and onward

As you evolve in Palworld, naturally, the ways and means to gather Stone also evolve!

The production building Stone Pit is like an "endless rock" for your Pals (or you) to gather Stone from. You need a Pal with Mining work capability to gather Stone from the Stone Pit.

Need a Pal with Mining? Good old Cattiva! It's the first Pal most will encounter that has Mining - and a useful early game Pal for many purposes!

The aforementioned Mine Foreman Pal Trait increases mining efficiency. Note that they DO NOT need to be summoned - just in party seems to work!
