How to get Wood in Palworld (early game, midgame...)

Find out how to get wood effectively in Palworld. From early game, mid game, and more!

Want to find out how to best get Wood in Palworld? Well, you've found the right place. Let's "cut" right to it.

Just Started? Early Game Wood Gathering

You just spawned in your new Palworld? your best bet is picking up wood from the ground (they look like sticks). And, just straight up punching trees to "harvest" wood.

After that use your first few bits of wood for a Primitive Workbench. From here, you can make tools to make your wood gathering efforts easier.

In the early game, using an Axe to hit trees is the "basic" wood gathering method. You'll be doing this for a long time, heh. So every now and then remember to chop down some trees to get some wood.

Mahiko San's PAL-tip: If you find a Pal with the trait "Logging Foreman" will
increase your Wood gathering rate passively.

Putting points into Axes in the Technology Tree (up to a point) is always a good idea, since it is the most "basic" form of wood gathering...

Wood Gathering in the Midgame and onward

As you rise in Palworld, naturally, the ways and means to gather wood might change.

The production building Logging Site is a "forever tree" for your Pals (or you) to gather wood from. You need a Pal with Lumbering work capability to gather wood from the Logging Site.

Need a Pal with Lumbering? For most, Eikthyrdeer is first Pal most people will encounter that has Lumbering (It has Level 2 Lumbering!). Also, Tanzee and Lifmunk are very near the starting area as well - they're easier to catch and weaker than Eikthyrdeer, but only have Level 1 Lumbering.

Wood Gathering Protips

Eikthyrdeer's Passive Skill, "Guardian of the Forest", increases efficiency of cutting trees. A funny name for such an ability for sure... It's also the first Pal you get that can use the Logging Site.

Any Pal with the Logging Foreman trait increases efficiency of wood gathering as well.

Summary, Closing, Related Info

Well, that's all I know about gathering wood in Palworld. I hesitate to use the word "cut" since ramming horns into trees seems to work way too well... In any case, I'll be adding to this as I play!
