FFXVI Agni Hunt Guide: Location, Strategy, etc

Agni is a Rank A Hunt (Notorious Mark), whose location is offically listed as, "Halfcombe, Waloed". You'll need to be at main scenario quest Brotherhood to unlock it.

Agni Location

Where is Agni located? Teleport to The Edge of Infinity in Waloed. Keep walking north until the first large circular clearing and you'll find him. Can't really miss him.

Beating Agni

Agni is THICC. I did a 110k Stagger combo on it, and it was only at half... That's the main challange, haha. The sheer layers of fatty acids. To make it worse, an hits to body (not face) deal less damage.

Collider: A double or triple rollerball into a jumping body slam. Don't bother while he's rolling, use magic. Dodge the body slam and go ham.

Firewater: is a DOUBLE sweeping mouth laser attack. Side to side, then return sweeps.

His last special unnamed skill is a repeated ball bouncy move, and the other usual lizard attacks that can throw you off.

While not particularly difficult, this fight can probably last three staggers. On my first kill, he had no visible lifebar but still survived a Windup and Rising Flames.

Agni Reccomended Skill Setup

If doing ASAP:

• Phoenix
• Rising Flames
• Will-`o-the-Wykes
• Garuda
• Windup (Mastered - Titan)
• Wicked Wheel
• Bahamut
• Impulse
• Gigaflare

If not doing ASAP, then use the above as a template.

Agni Notable rewards are: Stone Tongue.

On finding Agni, Clive says: "Look who's here to meet us! Pity they don't seem fond of visitors."

Upon defeating Agni, Clive says: "I've had warmer welcomes..."

IRL Agni (Sanskrit: “Fire”) is the Vedic fire-god of Hinduism. The more you know! There are many other somewhat ancient meanings but many relate to fire or flames.
