FFXVI Ahriman Hunt Guide: Location, Strategy, etc
Ahriman is a Rank C Hunt (Notorious Mark), whose location is offically listed as, "South of Sorrowise, Rosaria". You'll need to be at main scenario quest Gathering Storm to unlock it.
You're kind of "forced" to encounter Ahriman during the main scenario. I don't know if you can NOT find him. He's not particularly difficult, so I don't expect anyone to actually NEED this guide... It's just a formality at this point.

Ahriman Location
Where is Ahriman located? Teleport to Martha's Rest, and exit the town on the west. Once in Sorrowise, make your way to the southern half. He will be on the southeastern side leading up to Riddock's Jump.
Beating Ahriman: Strategy
Doom: puts a countdown on you, visualized by floating fireballs. Once it hits 0, a large deadly ground AoE is spawned at your location. GTFO!
Extremely fast eye laser: As described, it can be difficult to precision dodge, but just get out of his LITERAL line of sight.
Slow-moving homing electric spheres: Fires off 2 lightning balls that slowly seek you out. They're clumsy enough and easy to avoid.
Charged point blank AoE: Ahriman charges up and deals damage everywhere around it. If you're being sdafe, it's easy to dodge backwards out of.
Quaga: Spawns lots of random delayed land-mine like AoE's. Seems to only do this past 50% HP.
Ahriman teleports around a lot, so remember to use Phoenix Shift or Lunge to catch up.
It's a pretty easy fight, given that it's the first one. I dont imagine you'd need any more SPECIFIC guidance to take it down.
Ahriman Reccomended Skill Setup
If doing ASAP:
Phoenix
- Rising Flames - much better than Ignition here given enemy mobility.
- Will-'o-the-Wykes - use freely to stagger.
Garuda
- Gouge - use after ministagger at 50%.
- Wicked Wheel - use freely to stagger.
Ramuh
- Piledrive - Preferably used on Stagger phase.
- Judgment Bolt - Stagger Finisher.
If not doing ASAP, then use the above as a template.
Ahriman Rewards
Has no notable rewards. (Magicked Ash 10, Meteorite 1)
Ahriman Miscellaneous Info
On finding Ahriman, Clive says: "Do you think it spotted us, Torgal? What am I sayin? Of course it has. It's a floating eyeball."
Upon defeating Ahriman, Clive says: "It didn't see THAT coming."
