FFXVI Belphegor Hunt Guide: Location, Strategy, etc

Belphegor is a Rank B Hunt (Notorious Mark), whose location is offically listed as, "The Broken Hilt, Rosaria". You'll need to be at main scenario quest Gathering Storm to unlock it.

Belphegor Location

Where is Belphegor located? Teleport to Eastpool Waypoint. From there, go to that cliff on the edge of the southeastern path.

Beating Belphegor

This won't be much of an issue, Belphegor is basically a fatter version of the typical dragon enemy.

3x Fireball: Belphegor fires in sets of three, so be wary of this. He's immobile during this time so it's a great time to Wicked Wheel him for massive stagger damage.

Double Cone Breath: This is a very painful, and can easily tag you twice. This is the main reason you want to be safe and keep your health up. Dodge smartly to avoid this side if near, back if far.

Aside from these two special moves, he has the typical dragon moveset. Mobile and kind of annoying with dives, and combo rakes. Don't try to use your powerful skills if you're not sure he's gonna stay in place.

Belphegor Reccomended Skill Setup

If doing ASAP:

Phoenix

Rising Flames - much better than Ignition here given enemy mobility.
Will-'o-the-Wykes - use freely to stagger.

Garuda

Gouge - use after ministagger at 50%.
Wicked Wheel - use freely to stagger.

Ramuh

Piledrive - Preferably used on Stagger phase.
Judgment Bolt - Stagger Finisher.

If not doing ASAP, then use the above as a template.
