FFXVI Grimalkin Hunt Guide: Location, Strategy, etc

Grimalkin is a Rank C Hunt (Notorious Mark), whose location is offically listed as, "The Cattery, Dhalmekia". You'll need to be at main scenario quest Out of the Shadow to unlock it.

Grimalkin Location

Where is Grimalkin located? Teleport to The Jaw. Travel north until the fork in the road and go east. Then take the first path south (The Sickle) you see, and Grimalkin will be at the very end. Its very likely unexplored for you at this point.

Beating Grimalkin

The fight starts with some waves of adds in the form of dogs. They're pretty weak, so don't worry about adjusting your strategy too much around that.

Grimalkin has a very similar moveset to the Coeurls.

Savage is his only “special” skill. It’s just a multi-hit frontal attack followed by a backward jump then lunge. Very easy to punish both halves of the attack.

Grimalkin doesn't do any other other special Coeurl skills... Seems like a downgrade, haha.

Aside from the high damage, this isn't particularly different, or a challenge. Roll over this guy and continue along your day.

Grimalkin Reccomended Skill Setup

If doing ASAP:

• Eikon 1
• Ignition / Rising Flames (if you don't care about AoE)
• Will-'o-the-Wykes / Flames of Rebirth
• Garuda
• Gouge (Can use another mastered anti-trash skill if you like)
• Wicked Wheel
• Ramuh
• Windup (Mastered - Titan) / Piledrive
• Judgment Bolt

If you're annoyed at adds, you can add Flames of Rebirth. Ignition should be enough for "AoE". Meh, the dogs aren't that annoying.

If not doing ASAP, then use the above as a template.

On finding Grimalkin, Clive says: "Playtime for the pack, is it? Let me introduce you to mine!"
