FFXVI Knight of the Splendent Heart Hunt Guide: Location, Strategy, etc
Knight of the Splendent Heart is a Rank A Hunt (Notorious Mark), whose location is offically listed as, "The Penitent's Gate, Sanbreque". You'll need to be at main scenario quest to unlock it.
Knight of the Splendent Heart Location
Where is Knight of the Splendent Heart located? He's right in front of the gates of Oriflamme. There's actually a waypoint here, that many people seem to have missed. So either you teleport to Royal Meadows, or Northreach and head on over.
Beating Knight of the Splendent Heart
Mirage Dive: random dives, while also doing two homing dives like "double jump". If you're feeling fancy, precision dodge the final one. Not worth trying for the others. HE DOES THIS OFTEN.
Mirage High Dive: Is pretty much the same move. Finally, Phantom March: A bunch of random dives, followed by one aimed one.
As you can see, there's a lot of dives, haha.
He seems to be in the air most often than not, so the skill setup reflects that. Obliterate him with quick skills. Be safe with the dives, it's pretty much all he can do. CRUSH HIM DURING STAGGER.
Knight of the Splendent Heart Reccomended Skill Setup
If doing ASAP:
- Phoenix
- Rising Flames
- Scarlet Cyclone
- Garuda
- Windup (Mastered - Titan)
- Wicked Wheel
- Bahamut
- Piledrive or Judgment Bolt (Mastered - Ramuh)
- Gigaflare
If not doing ASAP, then use the above as a template.
Smash this guy. He isn't particularly fat or difficult to stagger. Sadly, he's not on the ground most of the time so you're better of NOT using those long skills like Impulse or Will-o-the-Wykes.
Knight of the Splendent Heart Rewards
Knight of the Splendent Heart has NO notable rewards. Meteorite, lol. I suppose the Meteorite embodies his spirit of falling from the sky, haha.
Knight of the Splendent Heart Miscellaneous Info
Upon meeting Clive, Knight of the Splendent Heart says, "You're the outlaw! The one who drove His Highness to madness! On your knees!". To which Clive says, "What!? He hasn't heard - and it doesn't look like he's willing to listen!"
Upon defeating Knight of the Splendent Heart, Clive says: "Damnit... Dion would have been glad to have you back at his side."
Seems like it was all just a misunderstanding, haha, poor guy. Imagine coming here with Dion as a partymember.
For the curious: Splendent: adjective (ARCHAIC) shining brightly. illustrious; great. Not quite the same as resplendent (though semantically related).
