FFXVI (Muddy Murder) Flan Prince Hunt Guide: Location, Strategy, etc

(Muddy Murder) Flan Prince is a Rank A Hunt (Notorious Mark), whose location is offically listed as, "Hawk's Cry Cliff, Rosaria". You'll need to be at main scenario quest Bolts from the Blue to unlock it.

You'll only discover its name, Flan Prince, upon encountering it. Otherwise only the hunt bill title, "Muddy Murder", is your clue to its identity.

(Muddy Murder) Flan Prince Location

Where is (Muddy Murder) Flan Prince located? Teleport to Hawk's Cry Cliff Waypoint. Make for Auldhyl (he's along the way). He's waiting in the northeast space of this "main land mass" (not in the "Amber" side).

Beating (Muddy Murder) Flan Prince

During the entire encounter, Flan Prince will cast its various elemental spells.

Firaga - easy to dodge, but don’t get hit - it’s powerful. Slow cast, slow projectile. Punish him for thisone.

Blizzaga - A large frontal ground AoE. Don’t get fancy with this one, dodge pre-emptively and smack him from behind.

Stonega - Leaves two delayed explosions under you, easy enough to avoid.

Tornado - Spawns delayed tornados around. As usual, don’t get caught in any one of these or its gonna be trouble.

His various basic slime attacks are a little difficult to time, as well as his jump. These attacks are more threatening than the spells IMO, and are more likely to damage you.

At 50% or lower, he starts Dualcast. Which combines any two of his elemental spells in quick succession.

Hands Down: a 2 part attack that starts with a multi hit combo, then retargets for a final heavy hit. Easy to dodge the second part, punish him then.
