FFXVI Soul Stingers Hunt Guide: Location, Strategy, etc
Soul Stingers is a Rank C Hunt (Notorious Mark), whose location is offically listed as, "Empty Hovel, Dhalmekia". You'll need to be at main scenario quest Out of the Shadow to unlock it.
Soul Stingers Location
Where is Soul Stingers located? Teleport to the Jaw in Dhalmekia. Head east (a long way). Once in Fields of Corava, check the east side for "Empty Hovel" map marker, they're in the clearing a little east of that.
Beating Soul Stingers
They're five flying wasp type enemies. HAVE FUN WITH THIS ONE, with skills you don't usually use. It's rare you get to destroy these annoying enemy types.
None of them stagger, and are instead "fat" versions of their normal counterparts with some special skills.
Apipuncture: Is an extremely deadly skill. All surviving Soul Stingers will simultaneously dive to you. Just preemptively move away. Get hit by one - get hit by all. This can kill you.
Note that they can be knocked down, so do the ground punish whenever you can.
Cheese them with this cycle. "Ultimate" into "Ground stomp" repeat. In this case, "Flames of Rebirth", stomp one or two, "Earthen Fury", stomp one or two. They should be extremely thinned out by this time.
Phoenix Shift is better than Deadly Embrace - they don't get pulled.
Soul Stingers Reccomended Skill Setup
If doing ASAP:
- Phoenix
- Ignition
- Flames of Rebirth
- Garuda(Irrelevant, use Ramuh if you like)
- Gouge / Piledrive
- Wicked Wheel / Lightning Bolt
- Titan
- Upheaval / Windup
- Earthen Fury
You might not have all the AP for double ultimates? In which case go for skills that knockdown.
If not doing ASAP, then use the above as a template.
Final Fantasy Mode? Add Diamond Dust into the mix.
