FFXVI The Angel of Death (Aruna) Hunt Guide: Location, Strategy, etc

The Angel of Death (Aruna) is a Rank C Hunt (Notorious Mark), whose location is offically listed as, "Claireview, Sanbreque". You'll need to be at main scenario quest Gathering Storm to unlock it.

You'll only discover its name, Aruna, upon encountering it. Otherwise only the hunt bill title, "The Angel of Death", is your clue to its identity.

The Angel of Death (Aruna) Location

Where is The Angel of Death (Aruna) located? Teleport to Northreach Waypoint. From there, its in the southern part of this field, and a little west.

Beating The Angel of Death (Aruna)

Aruna is very similar to the Wind Elementals you fought here back then. With only very minor evolutions.

Her "basic attacks" are very quick, and may be difficult to dodge or punish. The dive is the easiest one to dodge and punish.

Her line attack spell is where she's most vulnerable and stationary. Best time to Wicked Wheel and build stagger.

Remember your Eikonic Feats! Phoenix Shift to close distance, and Deadly Embrace when you think you have little time to combo - Garuda (O), followed by Downthrust (SQ+X) is great.

She has her own Wicked Wheel like charged up attack. Don't get fancy here. Dodge pre-emptively and use magic at range. Close the gap with Phoenix Shift or Thrust right after.

If you're going for an easy clear, just wait for the best times to punish, and don't try to get too greedy during the difficult times.

The Angel of Death (Aruna) Reccomended Skill Setup

If doing ASAP:

Phoenix

Rising Flames - much better than Ignition here given enemy mobility.
Will-'o-the-Wykes - use freely to stagger.

Garuda

Gouge - use after ministagger at 50%.
Wicked Wheel - use freely to stagger.

Ramuh

Piledrive - Preferably used on Stagger phase.
Judgment Bolt - Stagger Finisher.
