FFXVI The Pack Hunt Guide: Location, Strategy, etc

The Pack is a Rank C Hunt (Notorious Mark), whose location is offically listed as, "South of Tabor, Dhalmekia". You'll need to be at main scenario quest Things Fall Apart (toward the end) to unlock it.

The Pack Location

Where is The Pack located? Teleport to Tabor waypoint and exit southeast. At the intersection, go west towards Fields of Corava. At the next intersection take a left (south), and The Pack is there.

Beating The Pack

Ah, a pack of dogs. Who would have guessed? They don't get staggered, lots of interrupts.. do yourself a favor and spec your skills for AoE as I outline in the next section.

Thrill of the Hunt: is their only special skill, and they do it often. They will charge at you "roughly" in succession, not simultaneously. Getting hit by 1 will chain into all remaining - IT CAN KILL YOU so be wary of your life and press potion quickly.

Cheese this annoying fight by Earthen Fury, into stomp, into Flames of Rebirth, into stomp, into Gigaflare. Kill one at a time and DUMP YOUR SKILLS as often as you can and GROUNDSTOMP as much as you can since they can be knocked down.

Limit Break is great to being uninterruptible.

It's not a difficult fight, but annoying if you go in using your basic single target skills. Have a little fun and SMASH these guys with a specialized skillset.

The Pack Reccomended Skill Setup

If doing ASAP:

• Phoenix
• Scarlet Cyclone
• Flames of Rebirth
• Titan
• Windup
• Earthen Fury
• Bahamut
• Impulse (If you can manage with AP, use Titans Upheaval)
• Gigaflare

If not doing ASAP, then use the above as a template.

The Pack has NO notable rewards.

On finding The Pack, Clive says: "Remember-you're on my side, Torgal."

Upon defeating The Pack, Clive says: "Shouldn't have messed with the leader of the pack, eh, boy?"
