FFXVI (The Wailing Banshee) Gizamaluk Hunt Guide: Location, Strategy, etc

(The Wailing Banshee) Gizamaluk is a Rank A Hunt (Notorious Mark), whose location is offically listed as, "Garnick, Waloed". You'll need to be at main scenario quest to unlock it.

You'll only discover its name, Gizamaluk, upon encountering it. Otherwise only the hunt bill title, "The Wailing Banshee", is your clue to its identity.

(The Wailing Banshee) Gizamaluk Location

Where is (The Wailing Banshee) Gizamaluk located? Teleport to Vidagraes waypoint in Waloed. Garnick (it's spawnpoint), is a small abandoned village quite near towards the southwest. You can see its label on the map - it's a very obvious location, and she's right in the middle of town.

Beating (The Wailing Banshee) Gizamaluk

You've been around this block many times. Wind Elementals, Suparna, Chirada, even one of the first hunts, Aruna. This should be a, well, breeze.

Cacophony: many fast exploding "land-mines". move around quickly. Spam magic, don't get to greedy when you try to melee.

Line magic spell: Ultra telegraped, punish during the cast. Usually followed up immediately by another skill.

Has her own "Wicked Wheel" GTFO out of this, the channel is wrapping herself with her wings. Also look out for the other usual skills, dives, quick melee attacks, jump-aways, wind slices...

Gizamaluk is somehow more annoying than all her predecessors - more mobile, more painful, more erratic. Thankfully she also shares in their weakness - their relative softness and low stagger treshold.

You shouldn't be given too much of a challenge. Limit Break to just absolutely tunnel while healing is a valid strategy if you're tired of her, haha.

Wicked Wheel while she cacophonies, wait for your openings... crush her during spellcasts... Meh.

(The Wailing Banshee) Gizamaluk Miscellaneous Info

On finding (The Wailing Banshee) Gizamaluk, Clive says: "Harman's madness lives on."

Upon defeating (The Wailing Banshee) Gizamaluk, Clive says: "Rest in peace."

The intro quote is quite sad (It's of course relating to Benedikta Harman, Garuda's Dominant). Related to what Cid said about the Wind Elementals in Dragon's Aery the very first time you see them. "One for each fragment of her mind", or something to that effect. It's a pretty cool concept that I hoped the game would explore in relation to the other dominants.
