AC6 Walkthrough - Chapter 4

AC6 Chapter 4 Walkthrough. Every mission, boss strategy, tips, gear upgrades, and more!

This is the Chapter 4 Walkthrough for AC6! This chapter is by far the longest one. BY FAR, haha. But, it's no less fun.

Missable Items in AC6? Will remind you in every chapter that you can't really miss items since you can replay missions. If there actually is one you can somehow miss, I will let you know when I find out.

If you're reading this Chapters walkthrough and the mission you need advice on isn't here, it may be an NG+/++ specific mission - so click on that.

Arena: Rank A - get it done!

Always do Arena ASAP as the chips for OS Tuning are very valuable.

SORTIE: Underground Exploration - Depth 1

When the partition closes to block you, behind the terminal to “reactivate” it (early into the mission), there’s a chest containing the IA-C01L: EPHEMERA Legs.

Avoiding Lasers while going down: I don’t know if there’s a “proper” way to do this. But just go around the sides slowly ,and fall down while attempting to block the laser line of sight with platforms. Your goal is to go to the very bottom and destroying the machine.

SORTIE: Underground Exploration - Depth 2

Reach the End of Depht 2 - “Look for a Ventilation Duct”. Exit the tunnels onto the bridge. Go downwards, where there are bunch of minibots gathering. The vent is still a little below this!

-- How to beat ENFORCER

This is a large, but surprisingly agile mech. It has decent firepower, but POWERFUL MELEE ATTACKS. I just chose to take advantage of its large size. Double Shotguns, and Double SONGBIRDS or MORLEYS.

He packs a punch, but any decent standard loadout will work. Melee is a toss-up, as he can severely punish you if you try to melee him for value.

For the mission rewards, you get a complete AC Set! (Or is it from combat logs?)

SORTIE: Underground Exploration - Depth 3

GEAR PREP: In case you need to cheese this, double MG's and double anti-worm VE-60SNA Stun Needle Launcher.

The rough part of this mission is the boss with time limitation. If you're having a tough time, use the setup I mention above (or with a melee weapon, alternatively). It's a great time to see the absolutely bonkers stagger damage on these anti worm weapons.

Not only do you have to beat the AC within the time limit, you have to make it out as well. Get it done quick.

Arena: Rank S - get it done!

Always do Arena ASAP as the chips for OS Tuning are very valuable.

SORTIE: Ambush the Vespers

Doing this mission cancels out "Intercept the Redguns". I suggest you take THIS path on your first playthrough.

The boss of this mission is a double AC fight against 2 "Arena tier" AC's. Can be difficult for the unprepared!

-- How to beat DUAL NATURE and RECONFIG

Your friend engages on the AC that you do not. What worked for me is to AGGRO DUAL NATURE ASAP, so your pal takes on RECONFIG.

Keep note that your friend doesn't last forever - he will bail after some time (or taking too much damage?). At which point the fight becomes much more difficult if it's a 2v1 - practically unwinnable.

The reverse is also true, deal with DUAL NATURE fast enough, and it becomes a 2v1 in your favor. You don't really need a special setup - you should have the tools to smash DUAL NATURE in the way you most deem fit. He's a lot easier to kill than RECONFIG so it makes sense for you to take him on first.

As long as you can kill one of 'em quick enough - the fight should just win itself after that.

SORTIE: Intercept the Redguns

Cancels out "Ambush the Vespers"

DECISION: This mission gets CANCELLED OUT if you complete “Destroy the Special Forces Craft”.

This mission feels really, really bad. You have to kill over 50 enemies in this small map, and you have to fight a tough enemy at the end (G1 Michigan). Honestly, there's no special strategy here - but you HAVE to have a loadout that can fight Michigan at the end AND survive / have enough ammo left after fighting A TON OF TRASH MOBS.

I found this hilariously unfun. Laser Rifle did gods work against the basic trash mobs. A melee weapon, and heavy shoulder weapons will be great against the "fats" and G1 Michigan himself.

SORTIE: Unknown Territory Survey

The boss here is a familiar face! STEEL HAZE. While he's more powerful than his arena version - you got repair kits for this fight.

STEEL HAZE is a fast, hard hitting, short range AC. His weakness? A relatively small AP pool. Less than 10k I'd imagine. Get into a melee brawl, and eviscerate him during stagger. You'll take damage too, but you should come out winning.

SORTIE: Reach the Coral Convergence

GEAR PREP: The end of chapter boss can be frustrating for many. If there's a time for you to try the double gatling gun cheese build, it's now. Keep it in your garage - you may need it. As for a more fair approach, the LASER LANCE is a must have here, and may as well get the PILEBUNKER melee weapon.

How to beat Maeterlinck and Wu Hantai? Both agile mechs with shields - you’ll be worn out over time. Your hand weapons should be melee + MG/Shotgun. Shoulder weapons, well, VERTICAL MISSILES are ok since the map sucks for normal ones. But since you might not own any, the usual antiworm gun, or anything to burst them during stagger.

After the pair, instead of crossing the bridge go down into the water. Destroy these Grinding Wheels to get combat logs, and there’s a chest here in the shore across which has the IA-C01W2 MOONLIGHT , a classic AC item. Furthermore there's some AC's on the right side of the lake that are combat log targets.

Note that the checkpoint is quite far so you'll have to play carefully during this whole lake area and a little after. Then, you're off to fight the boss.

-- How to beat IB-01: CEL 240

This isn't exactly easy. It's also why I recommend to have the double gatling double antiworm cheese build at the ready in your garage. If there's a time in your first playthrough to rely on it, this is the one.

This AC is fast. Really fast. Really airborne. And has a few nearly impossible to dodge attacks. You will get worn out slowly but surely. Landing hits is also very difficult with most weapons. To top it all off, she has very little windows of opportunity for you to attack.

The laser lance melee weapon is incredible here (and melee weapons in general), if you want something more fair, lol. You can go for a DOUBLE MELEE BUILD using Lance + Pilebunker on your left hand using the weapons bay upgrade from OS Tuning. This is the best way to beat this somewhat normally. Pair it with a solid Machine Gun on your right arm.

As for shoulder weapons, almost all shoulders weapons won't realistically contribute to STAGGERING CEL 240. So, have your shoulder weapons exclusively to burst during stagger. Good old antiworm or something similar.

SORTIE: Escape (The JUNK AC mission)

You won't know the name of this mission until you select it from Replay Missions, but it is called Escape and is technically another mission alltogether, albeit being a forced one right after the CH4 Boss.

The only notable thing I can mention here is, avoid fighting if you can. Not kidding when they said this AC is junk, and you don't get any bonus points for suffering through this.

Congratulations! You've made it to the end of Armored Core 6 - Chapter 4!
