FFXVI Dozmare Hunt Guide: Location, Strategy, etc

Dozmare is a Rank B Hunt (Notorious Mark), whose location is offically listed as, "Caer Norvent West Gate, Sanbreque". You'll need to be at main scenario quest Here Be Monsters to unlock it.

Dozmare is unlocked during, and is an objective of, the sidequest: Blacksmith's Blues.

Dozmare Location

Where is Dozmare located? Teleport to Caer Norvent River Gate. Then just go a tiny bit southeast - Dozmare is perched on the wall right there.

Beating Dozmare

Noble dive: Dodge INTO the wave towards him. It’s very unlikely you’ll outrun the wave, so might as well try to dodge into him and get free hits.

Tornado spawned? Just get out of that area, it’s not worth the risk.

Charging up wind burst? If you’re confident you can dodge this, and it feels really cool to do so lol, but this hits hard so just pre-emptively avoid outwards if you’re iffy about it.

He has a very clumsy 2-hit melee attack. This is where he's most open and a good window for punishment.

Dozmare Reccomended Skill Setup

If doing ASAP:

Phoenix

• Rising Flame - Preferably used on Stagger phase.
• Will-'o-the-Wykes - use freely to stagger.

Garuda

• Gouge - use after ministagger at 50%.
• Wicked Wheel - use freely to stagger.

Ramuh

• Piledrive - Preferably used on Stagger phase.
• Judgment Bolt - Stagger Finisher.

If not doing ASAP, then use the above as a template.
