FFXVI Holy Trumpitour Hunt Guide: Location, Strategy, etc

Holy Trumpitour is a Rank B Hunt (Notorious Mark), whose location is offically listed as, "Lostwing, Sanbreque". You'll need to be at main scenario quest Cloak and Dagger / Evenfall to unlock it.

Unlocking Holy Trumpitour is a little different. You need to COMPLETE the sidequest "For Great Justice II" (It's in Lostwing, too) before it becomes available.

Holy Trumpitour Location

Where is Holy Trumpitour located? Do you know the locked door in the cellar at Lostwing? Guarded by the girl? Well, if you don't know it - now you know. Head to the wine cellar in Lostwing and head past that door now that there's noone guarding it. At the end of the tunnel you'll find Holy Trumpitour.

Beating Holy Trumpitour

Holy Trumpitour has many of the moves of the "fatty cannoneer" enemies. However, for a B rank his damage is insane even if you overlevel him.

Recoil: A triple jumping attack attempting to land on you. Very difficult to get value from this, so only try to attack after the third. Use magic in between.

His attacks, I think, are determined by your range to him. You can try baiting fireballs and punish him with Heatwave, but meh...

You've fought enough of this type by now... Avoid the point blank burst which launches him backwards. AVOID the flamethrower.

Honestly, I didn't really see much of what he could do aside from Recoil which he did often. I absolutely smashed him and he barely got to move.

Between Impulse into Partial Stagger into Wicked Wheel... he won't have much time to do anything else.

Might be worth more of a discussion in Final Fantasy mode... I'll try to give him a chance to do more moves next time.

If doing ASAP:

  • Phoenix
    • Rising Flames
    • Will-'o-the-Wykes
  • Garuda
    • Windup (Mastered - Titan) / Gouge
    • Wicked Wheel
  • Bahamut
    • Impulse
    • Gigaflare

If not doing ASAP, then use the above as a template.
