Walkthrough & Loot Reminders for the Maelstrom Point and Kiln Mountain parts of Sea of Stars.

Welcome again to our Sea of Stars Walkthrough. This segment deals with the events in Maelstrom Point, and Kiln Mountain.

Maelstrom Point

Next up, you’re brought to the Serai PoV where florence gives you a pearl to summon the sea beast, as well as a new Scroll: Arcane Barrage - combo for Serai and Re’shan.

Hortence sells a few items here, notably Azure Cape. You should have one already for Reshan. You should also have both of the weapons too. There’s a savepoint along the way , better use it cause there’s a boss next.

Boss - Hydralion (2nd time around!)

The tail will counter you if you hit the head while it’s up. So make sure to take care of the tail asap. Sometimes, It’s worth breaking the 2-lock if you’re gonna take 1 hit from the tail. Now, for ruler of tides (the 5 lock), you just want to eat it if you cannot break it in one go.

One good technique here is to DELAY the spawning of the tail after you first kill it. Once it dies Hydralions next skill will be to summon it - use Disorient and Arcane Barrage to delay it as much as possible and get lots of damage in.

After Hydralion you’ll get some cutscenes and then Valere’s task is up next.

Kiln Mountain

Kiln Mountain "Missable Items" / Important Loot Notes

There’s a savepoint and camp here before you enter. Eventually you’ll drop into the water, but jump back up and backtrack for the chest you just saw while falling - it’s an Igneous Staff.

Ahead, use the boulder to break the cracked ground and fall into the lava zone. It’s a long walk until the next notable landmark, which is another savepoint. Keep going until you reach a boulder - use it to crush the spikes blocking the Rainbow Conch. Use the other boulder to proceed, there’s a chest on the right side which has Volcanic Armor for Valere.

Keep going into the next are where you have to push the pillars. Push them into the lava and proceed. When you find the boulder - there’s a secret room in the upper right which has the Golden Accessory - Magic Pocket. A VERY powerful item which allows you to use one item per round without losing a turn! Push the boulder and proceed to the next area.

There’s a shop, savepoint, and camp here. Shop offers nothing new, but I suggest you cook new food to reach the 10 limit with “updated” food items from now on. Save and proceed.

Boss: Toadcano

Very hard to break its locks - I don’t know why but they were always awkward. Reshans Ebb is your best chance. The adds aren’t a big deal - they usually just explode anyway so I just focused on the boss.

After a long series of cutscenes and a cool comic… Damn. You learn Solen’s Light: Salvation, and Luana’s Might: Retribution - Zale and Valere’s ultimate skills.

With the Cobalt Hammer you can break blue crystals around the world, for example being the one in Moorlands for a Rainbow Conch.

Once you're done here in Mooncradle, talk to Yolande for a shortcut to the Cloud Kingdom. Talk to the Council to proceed.
