Here, I will compile all my knowledge about the Sigils System in Relink. Let's slot right in. I'll focus on answering frequently asked questions about Sigils, and answer them briefly while linking to further info if I have it.

Sigils in Relink are slotted into "your character" (I would say weapon, but that's not accurate as changing weapon doesn't affect your Sigil Count) to obtain a number of Traits to improve your stats and/or provide unique effects.

RECENT UPDATE: Updated some wrong info from launch. Sigil+ is NOT completely random, and Sigil+ DOES affect upgrade material cost."

Sigil SLOTS - How to get them, max amount

Alot of people ask How many Sigil Slots are there, and how do you get them?

While you can read the above for more details, the short answer is:

  • a total of 12 Maximum Sigil Slots for all characters.
  • Obtain via Masteries, Fate Episides, and the free default one.
  • No universal unlocks, they're a "per character" thing.

When should I upgrade Sigils?

Or "What Sigils are worth upgrading?". This is honestly different from person to person depending on your goals, but the responsible answer would be: "V+ Sigils, maybe V at least".

Why? (MY OWN PERSONAL OPINION HERE): Lower level Sigils cap out at very small levels. So all the materials you used to upgrade them essentially reach a "dead end", whereas V/V+ Sigils are the "best" ones so you won't feel like you wasted resources.

Upgrading Sigils is an endgame activity. It's very costly, and gives very little power per increment. But, I won't fault anyone who is "excited to gain more power" and upgrades lower Sigils.

Are there notable "Special Sigils"?

There are a few notable "special" Sigils, namely Character Specific Sigils, and the Crabby Resonance. (Should I even talk about the resource ones? Fast Learner and the gold one?)

  • Everyone has 2 Character Specific Sigils which typically "augment" their playstyle.
  • Crabby Resonance Sigil (which deserves its own guide) is the absolute best Early / Mid (even Late?) game sigil, only losing out to absolute End-game ultra upgraded sigils.

AFAIK you can only get ONE Crabby Resonance Sigil, and 1 of each BASIC VERSION of the Character Specific one (You don't need more anyway).

Are Sigils the only source of Traits?

No. you can get traits from many sources. Notably all of these sources "stack up", until you reach the cap of that trait. Examples of non-Sigil sources of traits: Collection Mastery, Weapon Type, Weapon Imbuement... hmm is that seems to be it?

While this isn't exactly a topic solely on Sigils I chose to throw it on here to prevent this confusion, as it's pretty related anyway.

Sigils Rank / Tier - Effects, and Maximum

The next basic topic is Sigil Rank (or Sigil Tier - I'm guessing the community favors "Rank", but I think Tier makes more sense? Eh, who knows, in time we will see what sticks). Basically the Roman Numeral after the Sigil Name.

Sigils currently max at 5 (V), and at rank 3 or above Sigils can have a "Plus"(+), which signifies double traits (more on this later).

A Sigils Rank affects a few things:

  • Its starting level - corresponds 1:1 to the levels of the Traits you gain.
  • Its maximum level - corresponds 1:1 to the maximum levels of the Traits you gain.

What's the "best" Sigil you can get? V+ is the most powerful Sigil "type" you can get. I don't mean VI, or 6. Literally V+, meaning double traits.

For example, a Rank 5 Sigil can have up to 15 Levels, which will ultimately give you +15 of that Trait(s) when fully upgraded.

Plus (+) Sigils, what are they?

Any Sigil with a Plus (+) means it has TWO TRAITS. All prior rules apply, it just so happens it has two traits. IE each level the Sigil has contributes to one level in BOTH of the traits.

Trait combinations in Plus Sigils are NOT completely random. You can have ATK and Throw. This can be good or bad news, heh. While it opens up many possible builds - it's also huge RNG.

These Sigils COST MORE to upgrade compared to plain ones.

See: Sigil+ combination rules and limitations.

Sigil Levels

A Sigils Level affects two things:

  • Its current contribution to Trait levels - Level 4 gives +4 Traits, for example.
  • Naturally (and sadly), the upgrade cost - Money and materials cost goes up with its level.
