Weapons General Guide

Everything you need to know about the Weapons System in Granblue Fantasy: Relink. Lots going on, but it's not too complex!

Looking for a General Guide on Relinks Weapons System? Well, I usually start with a summary so... deep breath... here goes.

Every character has multiple (6) weapon types to choose from. These types determine a few things. It's base stats (ATK/HP), the two Traits they provide (a primary and seconary one - with the primary being higher), and unlocking its corresponding Collection Mastery subtree depending on its upgrade level.

Each weapon is upgraded separately, and must be found or forged first. Weapons have star grades aand are "uncapped" separately to upgrade it further into and onto the next star grade. Obviously it gets stronger along the way.

There are also a few minor weapon related systems like Wrightstones - granting a few bonus traits (similar to a gem socket in other games), and finally Mirage Munitions which add a very slight "refinement" bonus to your weapons up to 100 times.

Sorry, that's the best I could do with a "Summary" lol. Lets get on with the specifics and the FAQ's.

Weapon Types

There are currently six weapon types in Relink - every character has all of them. It's a significant choice as it affects a some other related systems. The weapon types are (in the order the game presents them): Defender, Ascension Weapon, Executioner, Stinger, Stunner, Terminus.

Mahiko San Tip: A question many players in the early game would be,
What weapon to upgrade first? Check it out if you need it.

Weapon Traits

Each weapon type grants Traits depending on how upgraded they are.

Weapon TypeTrait ATrait B
DefenderHPGarrison
Ascension WeaponATKHP
ExecutionerWeak Point DMGBreak Assassin
StingerCritical Hit RateCritical Hit DMG
StunnerStun PowerLinked Together
TerminusDamage BoostDamage Cap

These bonus Traits are only active WHILE you're equipping them.

Collection Mastery

Each weapon type also unlocks Collection Masteries based on how upgraded they are.

Weapon TypePrimary MasterySecondary Mastery
DefenderHealth UpAttack Power Up
Ascension WeaponAttack Power UpHealth Up
ExecutionerWeak Point Damage UpHealth Up
StingerCritical Hit DMG UpCrit Hit Rate Up / Health Up
StunnerStun PowerLinked Together
TerminusDamage BoostDamage Cap

Thankfully once you unlock and learn these Collection Masteries stats persist no matter which weapon you're equipping. So it's a good idea to upgrade all weapons eventually.

Base Stats

Naturally, each weapon type has different base stats. Mainly HP and ATK. This also affects the final stat values as well when they're upgraded. Notably, Stunner is the only weapon type with another bonus stat - Stun Power.

Upgrading Weapons

All weapons can be upgraded to give various effects - up to 6 Star levels. Increased base stats is the obvious one. They also improve in the Trait Levels they give, as well as the number of Collection Mastery nodes you can invest into.

Star LevelTraits LevelCollection NodesMax Level
12/0130
23/0250
35/0375
415/64100
520/95125
625/156150

Naturally upgrading weapons cost resources, and increase as their level goes up. You must "uncap" a weapon each time it reaches its current maximum level to increase the star level and continue upgrading.

Wrightstones

Through the Blacksmith process Imbuement - place Wrightstones into weapons for a few bonus Traits. Wrightstones have some manner of RNG as to WHAT and HOW MANY Traits are added, but thankfully they have some base types.

You can freely add Wrightstones into weapons, but you will "overwrite" and delete the old one.

Mirage Munitions

Mirage Munitions are late game drops that can be added onto your weapons. This sub system is rather simple: Each Mirage Munition gives +2 ATK and +10 HP, and 100 can be added to each weapon (99?).

There's not much else to say here. It's a small boost, but a welcome one.
