FF7 Rebirth Chapter 1 Walkthrough SPOILER FREE, ONLY IMPORTANT NOTES

Walkthrough for Chapter 1 of FF7 Rebirth. NO SPOILERS, only IMPORTANT NOTES and "Missable" Items. Preppin' for the Prologue!

Hello and welcome to our simple, straight to the point, NO BS Walkthrough for Chapter 1 of FF7 Rebirth. Here, you will expect:

  • Only important notes. If a segment is blank, means there's nothing relevant to say.
  • SPOILER FREE. Any potential spoilers will be blurred.
  • Important of "missable" items will be noted to the best of my ability.
  • Time saving or important reminders that are pretty impactful.
  • No useless pictures I'll only add really important ones if any.
  • Use CTRL+F to search or scroll to the Main Scenario quest name you need help on.

Chapter 1 Walkthrough: Pre-notes

Mahiko San Note: It seems like NOTHING you pick up here in Chapter 1 carries over. Heh.
So don't worry about it too much.

So yeah, I wrote a lot of this down without knowing that beforehand - hah. But, this chapter is very important to the story so listen up!

Prologue

Home Sweet Home

Annoyingly you can actually miss content in this quest, haha. As far as I know you can do these four things before proceeding with the quest:

  • First Time in Two Years - Interact with Clouds Mom.
  • The Inn - Talk to Rashard Zangan at the Inn.
  • The Water Tower - Climb up the tower.
  • Lockhart Residence - Do "stuff" here. Mostly upstairs.

    • You can proceed without completing all of these, so if you wanna see as much content as you can try to explore as much. Are there more interactions?

    The Mission Begins

    Make your way to the reactor, just keep following Tifa and fighting. No notable items afaik, but feel free to explore! Again, you don't keep stuff from this segment…

    Bridge Is Out

    New Route

    Unlock the Elevator

    Push the purifier to suck up the Mako Gas, which allows you to use the Elevator.

    Cross the Bridge

    The Mission Continues

    Up the Cliff

    There's a HP Up materia right after the savepoint / bench.

    Beware the Gas

    After slowly passing through that thin wooden ridge, go down and pick up a Magnify materia. After the Zu fight, climb up to the metal structure for a Precision Defense Focus materia. Further up, on top of some covered crates is an Auto-Cast materia.

    But, I was writing this not knowing you don't keep any of these, heh.

    Unlock the Elevator / Short Power Cord

    Manually open the door so you can push the machine through. Same suction as earlier

    Boss: Materia Guardian

    It's weak to fire. Target the legs when it's on the roof with spells. Freeing allies while captured also pressures it. Use Assess to check it out on your own!

    You learn about Synergy abilities here. These are super strong, but you might not "feel" it or "need" it right now. I'll remind you later.
