BG3 Athlete Feat

Info on the Athlete BG3 Feat. Tips, when to use, is it worth it, is it good?

Athlete is one of the Feats in Baldurs Gate 3. Here's a short guide on it on what it does (and clarifications), as well as "is Athlete good?" "is Athlete worth it?".

Athlete Effects

As per the in-game description: Your Strength of Dexterity increases by 1, to a maximum of 20. When you are Prone, standing up uses significantly less movement. Your Jump distance also increases by 50%..

Athlete mechanics clarifications

Base Jump distance scales from Strength, of which this will increase.

Standing up from Prone "costs" movement, of which this reduces.

Is Athlete worth it?

So, is Athlete good? When would you take Athlete? Yes. It's actually really good IMO. Jump distance is incredible for combat. Standing up from prone easier is icing on the cake. Not to mention, you get a point in either STR or DEX!

This will most benefit Strength-based brawly / melee characters, and is a very attractive option for them. HOWEVER, there are ways to pre-combat buff jump... This just makes it less tedious and "fair".

For exploration, however, there are many ways to buff Jumping so don't take it for non-combat reasons.

Summary and Closing
