BG3 Dual Wielder Feat

Info on the Dual Wielder BG3 Feat. Tips, when to use, is it worth it, is it good?

Dual Wielder is one of the Feats in Baldurs Gate 3. Here's a short guide on it on what it does (and clarifications), as well as "is Dual Wielder good?" "is Dual Wielder worth it?". For the purposes of BG3 and 5E what we would usually refer to as "Dual Wielding" is "Two-Weapon Fighting".

Dual Wielder Effects

As per the in-game description: You can use Two-Weapon Fighting even if your weapons aren't Light, and you gain a +1 bonus to Armour Class while wielding a melee weapon in each hand. You cannot dual-wield Heavy weapons..

Dual Wielder mechanics clarifications

Dual Wielding WITHOUT this feat requires a light weapon in your offhand.

You can check if a weapon is Light on its tooltip (same with Heavy - usually Two-handers).

Offhand strikes use a Bonus Action, which you gain once a turn.

Dual Wielding has no inherent "penalty", you can do it although it will be suboptimal without fighting styles or feats.

Is Dual Wielder worth it?

So, is Dual Wielder good? When would you take Dual Wielder? Yes, it's amazing for pretty any dual wielding / two-weapon fighting character. +1 to AC is no joke, and the option to use non-light offhands improve damage significantly. It's one of the better traits that you should heavily consider if you're in this fighting style.
