BG3 Tough - Feat

Info on the Tough BG3 Feat. Tips, when to use, is it worth it, is it good?

Tough is a Feat in Baldurs Gate 3. Here's a short guide on it on what it does (and clarifications), as well as "is Tough good?" "is Tough worth it?".

Tough Effects

As per the in-game description: Your hit point maximum increases by 2 for every level you have gained. .

Tough mechanics clarifications

You gain a bonus from Level 1, even if the wording doesn't clarify that.

The HP bonus is retroactive. Meaning you'll gain 8 HP at Level 4 if you take it.

Is Tough worth it?

So, is Tough good? When would you take Tough? It's not worth it most of the time. Better on classes that have very low HP gains per level (most caster types). This is not that worth it on characters that are already "tough" to begin with. You might even benefit more from +2 CON in that case.

But, for casters, even then +2 CON might be better for Concentration checks.
