Recommended BG3 Ranger starting stats

If you don't wanna read too much into it, here's a TLDR for Ranger. This would be my answer "if I was FORCED to provide ONE SETUP" that might please as many people as possible.

• Strength: 10. Base 8, No Modifiers.
• Dexterity: 16. Base 14, +2 Ability Score Modifier.
• Constitution: 14. Base 14, No Modifiers.
• Intelligence: 8. Base 10, No Modifiers.
• Wisdom: 16. Base 15 , +1 Ability Score Modifier.
• Charisma: 10. Base ??? , No Modifiers.

You can essentially swap around the "8" stat into either STR, CHA, or INT. Me personally, I rank their importance as STR, CHA, INT.

There may be some races in BG3 with a different Ability Score modifier bonus (we shall see), but I hope you get the idea.

Don't like negative bonuses? I know I said one setup, but here's another Ranger starting stat build without "negative bonuses" meaning every stat is 10 or higher.

• Strength: 12. Base 12 No Modifiers.
• Dexterity: 16. Base 14 +2 Ability Score Modifier.
• Constitution: 14. Base 10 No Modifiers.
• Intelligence: 10. Base 10 No Modifiers.
• Wisdom: 14. Base 15 +1 Ability Score Modifier.
• Charisma: 10. Base 10 No Modifiers.

In this example, again, you can switch around the "12" stat between STR, INT, and CHA.

BG3 Ranger starting stats: Why?

The summary for Ranger is: ??? > ??? > ???: most important. ??? > ??? > ???: lesser importance.

Strength

Doesn't have much of a use for Ranger.

Dexterity

Ranged Damage and Finesse Weapon Damage - both relevant to most ranger builds.

Constitution

Intelligence

Doesn't have much of a use for Ranger.

Wisdom

Ranger spellcasting, and Perception checks.

Charisma

Doesn't have much of a use for Ranger, in this case.
