Recommended BG3 Wizard starting stats

If you don't wanna read too much into it, here's a TLDR for Wizard. This would be my answer "if I was FORCED to provide ONE SETUP" that might please as many people as possible.

Wizard is thankfully a little straightforward. As much INT as you can, with CON and DEX only being "defensive" stats.

• Strength: 8. Base 8 No Modifiers..
• Dexterity: 14. Base 14 No Modifiers. Can switch w/ CON.
• Constitution: 16. Base 15 +1 Ability Score Modifier. Can switch w/ DEX.
• Intelligence: 16. Base 14 +2 Ability Score Modifier.
• Wisdom: 10. Base 10 No Modifiers.
• Charisma: 10. Base 10 No Modifiers.

Maximize INT - it's a Wizards main stat. Important for starting stats, or otherwise.

DEX vs CON? DEX gives more AC, CON gives more HP and better concentration checks. I prefer CON.

Choose between STR, WIS, and CHA as your "8" stat. Doesn't really matter.

There may be some races in BG3 with a different Ability Score modifier bonus (we shall see), but I hope you get the idea.

Don't like negative bonuses? Reduce your DEX or CON to shore up any "8" stat you choose. Honestly, I don't recommend it.

BG3 Wizard starting stats: Why?

The summary for Wizard is:
INT > CON >= DEX: most important. WIS > STR > CHA: lesser importance.

Strength

Doesn't have much of a use for Wizard.

Dexterity

Gives AC with No, Light, and Medium Armor - the type you're likely to use.

Constitution

Is always good to have. More HP / Survivability. Helps Concentration while spellcasting.

Intelligence

Your "main stat" for Wizard. It does alot, lol.

Wisdom

Doesn't have much of a use for Wizard.

Charisma

Doesn't have much of a use for Wizard.
