Sorcerer Important Notes by Level (plain text)
Here are the level by level notes presented plainly. Obviously this will expand over time as we can level to max. Note that these are for Sorcerer specifically, and the general notes are found in the general guide.
Level | Reminder | Note |
---|---|---|
2 | Basic Skills | There are alot of viable basic skills. While I recommend Spark, feel free to try the others. Each has its own merits and you might be surprised to find something else you like. Since this is eventually going to be a heavy Shock skill build, either Spark or Arc Lash makes the most sense. |
11 | Defensive Tree? | Right about now you'll be here with your skill tree, and yes, I do recommend both Teleport and Ice Armor. While you don't need Ice Armor ASAP, you might as well pick it up now. |
16 | Mastery Tree? | Sadly, the active skills in the Mastery Tree kinda suck. They require too much support from passives and other effects... AKA Skill Points we don't have right now. Thankfully, that means we can double up on Defensive skills: Teleport and Ice Armor. |
15 | Unlock Enchantments (Fireball) | The priority quest Legacy of the Magi unlocks the Enchantment system. The enchantment system is basically an extra "passive". Each of your active skills correspond to a passive Enchantment effect. Note that you can only use a skill that you have learned (even if the skillpoint is gained via gear) can be used in the Enchantment slot. There are quite a few interesting effects here! You'll get another slot at L30! Use Fireball as your Enchantment for now, it solves your only issue of "overwhelming amount of trash mobs" in a very very cool way... |
30 | Enchantment Slot 2 (Spark) | You get your 2nd Enchantment slot here, and you don't need to do a quest. Use Spark or Chain Lightning. |
34 | Got Key Passive? Respect out of Hydra | Another reminder here... At this point after you get your Key Passive, you can remove Hydra for the Lightning Spear Summon. Check the build notes. |
Sorcerer Leveling Build (plain text)
Here's the leveling build presented plainly. As a side note I will probably add at least one variant per build, or maybe more once your reach key passive levels.
Skillpoint | Node | Note |
---|---|---|
1 | Spark | It being ranged is the only reason I chose this over Arc Lash, which is also amazing. |
2 | Enhanced Spark | We're pretty much forced to take the basic Enhancement always. |
3 | Chain Lightning | The best standalone Sorcerer core skill for leveling up, hands down IMO. |
4 | Enhanced Chain Lightning | Increased Critical Strike Chance on CL, yes please! |
5 | Destructive Chain Lightning | Generates Crackling Energy. |
6 | Flickering Spark | Generates Crackling Energy. |
7 | Teleport | Good old Teleport! Probably the best mobility skill in the game! |
8 | Ice Armor | Ice Armor will be your go-to emergency shielding skill. Don't be afraid to use, it's gonna save you a lot of HP in tough spots. |
9 | Chain Lightning | Upgrade Chain Lightning |
10 | Chain Lightning | Upgrade Chain Lightning |
11 | Chain Lightning | Upgrade Chain Lightning |
12 | Hydra | Hydra is always good to have. Great long-term DPS for Elites and Bosses. |
13 | Chain Lightning | Upgrade Chain Lightning |
14 | Fireball | We only use this for our Enchantment slot! |
15 | Glass Cannon | While taking more damage sucks, doing more is worth the suck. |
16 | Glass Cannon | Upgrade Glass Cannon |
17 | Enhanced Hydra | Makes Hydra quite a bit stronger for almost no effort. |
18 | Static Discharge | This may seem weird at this point, but we're working up to a very synergistic build. Crackling Energy is good! |
19 | Static Discharge | Upgrade Static Discharge |
20 | Static Discharge | Upgrade Static Discharge |
21 | Precision Magic | Lucky hit will eventually be one of our best stats! |
22 | Precision Magic | Upgrade Precision Magic |
23 | Precision Magic | Upgrade Precision Magic |
24 | Unstable Currents | A fun and powerful Ultimate Skill. Oh boy. DONT NEEDLESSLY SAVE THIS. Use it liberally to trash Elites and Bosses. |
25 | Prime Unstable Currents | Well worth it, as it simply increases the amount of random skills that will come out. |
26 | Supreme Unstable Currents | While I can see this being optional, it's still worth the point. |
27 | Coursing Currents | Guarantees crits every so often is a great effect. WIth out build, we will be hitting ALOT to ramp this up always. |
28 | Electrocution | Good passive, but we only want one point for now. Very powerful defensive effect. |
29 | Convulsions | Now you see the build coming to shape. All our shocks can now Stun, which then synergizes with our next choice... |
30 | Shocking Impact | Stuns now equal damage. You see where this is going right? |
31 | Convulsions | Upgrade Convulsions |
32 | Convulsions | Upgrade Convulsions |
33 | Shocking Impact | Upgrade Shocking Impact |
34 | Overflowing Energy | Godly for reducing our Ultimate and other Shock skills. REMOVE YOUR POINTS IN HYDRA and add in Lightning Spear and Invoked Lightning Spear in the Conjuration tree. |
35 | Shocking Impact | Upgrade Shocking Impact |
36 | Coursing Currents | Upgrade Coursing Currents |
37 | Coursing Currents | Upgrade Coursing Currents |
38 | Invoked Lightning Spear | Like I said prior, at this point you can remove your two points in Hydra for Lightning Spear and Invoked Lightning Spear. |
39 | Glass Cannon | Upgrade Glass Cannon |
40 | Align the Elements | Decent little passive for World Bosses and such. But we REALLY want the next point. |
41 | Protection | GODLIKE PASSIVE for survivability. Teleport, Unstable Currents, Lightning Spear... Anything with a Cooldown gives you a Barrier! |
42 | Protection | Upgrade Protection |
43 | Protection | Upgrade Protection |
44 | Elemental Attunement | All that Lucky Hit and Crit makes this one a shoe-in. Repeated Teleports and Ice Armors really help us get through anything. |
45 | Elemental Attunement | Upgrade Elemental Attunement |
46 | Elemental Attunement | Upgrade Elemental Attunement |
47 | Invigorating Conduit | Getting Mana from Crackling Energy seems sucky at first, but it's surprisingly significant. |
48 | Invigorating Conduit | Upgrade Invigorating Conduit |
49 | Invigorating Conduit | Upgrade Invigorating Conduit |
50 | Enhanced Teleport | Eh, not bad, a little Cooldown Reduction is always welcome on Teleport but we really want the next passive... |
51 | Mystical Teleport | This synergizes amazingly well with our Key Passive. More Cooldown Reduction! The other choice is actually fine for a more defensive choice. |
52 | Enhanced Ice Armor | More Mana Regeneration is always welcome. SInce our Cooldowns can be reset via Elemental Attunement, Ice Armor will be up more than you imagine. |
53 | Shimmering Ice Armor | Can't complain with more CC. Worth the point even if it feels a little random. |
54 | Electrocution | Upgrade Electrocution |
55 | Electrocution | Upgrade Electrocution |
56 | Conduction | Some movement speed doesn't hurt. And you'll be picking these up quite often. |
57 | Conduction | This or Align the Elements |
58 | Align the Elements | This or Conduction |
