This here is a little guide on Golf Clubs (and Kukri) in The Bazaar. Both of these are Pygmalien weapons which scale up in damage each time you heal yourself! It’s a tempting build around since it provides survivability via self-healing, and “inevitability” as these weapons will scale infinitely as the fight progresses.
Golf Clubs and Kukri’s ability roughly is: Gain +X damage for this fight each time you heal. Golf Clubs are a Medium item, Kukri is Small. With that out of the way let’s get in to it.
So let’s discuss how to maximize this pair!
Kukri & Golf Clubs – Three Core Combo Cards
Remember that these two cards scale off NUMBER of heals you get. Not the amount. With that being said, you want anything that triggers healing very often. So your two main combo pieces are Vineyard, and to a lesser extent, Uwashiwali Bird. Finally, another popular part of these builds is Weights.
Vineyard (Large Property) When you use an item, Heal equal to this items value. At the start of each hour, this gains 1 value.
First note is abusing Vineyard triggers is a whole guide on its own. Remember it fires off each time any other item is used! So you’ll scale your damage each time any item is used. Sounds great! Indirectly scales better with more smaller items, and Multicast.
Uwashiwali Bird (Small Friend) Heal X. Multicast, and increase Multicast for each property you have.
It has a very short activation time, so with even one property you’ll be triggering 3 heals every 4 seconds. DOUBLE the heals with Vineyard, so you see WHY these two work so well together for these kinds of builds.
Vineyard is undoubtedly the more important of the two (but both together is very powerful). With even just Vineyard and either Golf Clubs or Kukri, you already have a functional build – leaving lots of space for more healing or utility items.
While not exactly core to what you’re trying to do Weights carries a lot of, uhh, Weight in this build.
Weights (Medium Tool) Your weapons gain X damage, and your Healing items gain X Healing. When you heal while at max health, charge this by X seconds.
This is ALMOST a core item. This gives your defenses (Healing) an infinitely scaling component as well. So if you survive getting bursted down, Weights gives you a fighting chance versus other builds that try to scale their damage as well.
If you’re using Weights – adding a little bit of shielding in your build can go a long way. The more you charge and trigger this, the better. Remember it charges if you heal while full. Technically, much like the weapons, this scales with many small heals as well.
Other Support items?
Pygmalien has no shortage of healing, shielding, and utility items. There’s a bunch of viable little synergies here and there. Just remember that you want many instances of healing! If you can, try to get Haste into your build, especially for your weapon.
It’s a very flexible build with HIGH UPSIDE
Golf Clubs and Kukri are ultimately powerful because just how open the build is. I’d consider only Vineyard + one of these weapons to be the core of this build – and it will work with just that! Which leaves you ton of board space for support, utility, or more defenses, or even using BOTH these weapons.
Damage scales infinitely – You’ll eventually overcome most conventional defenses. If you survive burst, then you’ll almost surely win.
Inherently defensive (and defensively scales infinitely with Weights) – You scale from healing done. What more can I say. Immediately you have lots of game versus Poison, and sustain DPS builds.
Lots of flex options – you don’t have to feel borked if you don’t get one of the core items. Vineyard is the closest thing to being “MANDATORY” for the build and even then can rock without it! I have two videos showing somewhat different defensive engines. Also a 10-win video without Vineyard.
Summary, Closing thoughts, Related Links
Golf Clubs and Kukri ultimately tickle our minds whenever we see them early for a very simple reason. It forces us to build healing (defenses) to scale up our damage – so immediately our build is more resilient and inevitable than most. Having this clear direction can often translate into results!
Long story short, if you’re packing Kukri of Golf Clubs – Vineyard is what you’re after, and anything else after that is gravy. The build “works” with only two cards!
