You’ll find all sorts of information here regarding the Huntsman Career (for Markus) in Vermintide 2. The Huntsman is a ranged DPS/support class that can pick off targets for days with its ammo refund talent! Great offensive buffs for the team.

Huntman Generic Build Template

This is meant to be a General purpose” build for the Huntsman which focuses on the early to midgame. I will be adding more specialized builds which require more heavy item support soon.

Huntsman “General Purpose” Build – Talent Summary

Level “Best” Optional
5 Keep ‘Em Coming Any

Huntsman “General Purpose” Build – Talent Choice Discussion

L5 Talent - Keep 'Em Coming

Keep ‘Em Coming (+reload speed) is great for some weapons with a really long reload. If the weapon type you use reloads fast, don’t bother with this. Great with the “sniper”. I’d say take this every time if your weapon can utilize the effect.

On Target (-weapon spread) I really dislike these talents… maybe for shotgun? hah.

Outdoorsman (+stamina) While I love stamina, reload speed seems more important.

L10 Talent - Make 'Em Bleed

Make ‘Em Bleed (crits cause enemies to take more damage) is great. Anything to make bosses go down faster! This is the “default” talent here not only because it’s good – the other talents suck!

Scavenger (ammo on boss kill) is the next best thing, but still terrible. Given how generous your ammo refund mechanic is.

Hands Off! (Enemies that CC Markus take extra damage) is just way too narrow.

L15 Talent - Taal's Blessing

Taal’s Blessing (+ammo on headshot) improves your base talent from +1 to +2. This can essentially make you “go infinite” and never need ammo. It just ups your ranged support capabilities by a large margin.

Makin’ It Look Easy (+crit buff on ranged headshot) is huge, but sometimes impractical. It has its uses, especially if you’re going for max DPS, but I feel off for me.

Thrill of the Hunt (Headshots give +reload speed) seems overkill.

L20 Talent - Soldier's Spirit

Soldier’s Spirit (THP on Kill) is the default in this talent tier for most careers. You’ll always be killing and THP rewards you for playing with a faster pace.

For the Empire! (THP on crit) is good ONLY IF YOUR BUILD CAN SUPPORT IT. The higher your crit the better this is. This is much better than THP on Kill IF you can afford it.

The Harder They Fall (Heal on boss kill) is a no for me. I just can’t bring myself to pick this.

L25 Talent - I'm Comin' for Ya

I’m Comin’ for Ya (DMG bonus during ult) is the “default” choice since it helps a lot during boss killing. While a shadow of its former self, it’s still usable.

Hunter’s Respite (heal during ult) is the next best thing. If you wanna be safer, pick this.

Blend In (reduced cooldown on ult) I don’t feel like this ult is the type you’d want to spam often so I’m gonna pass on this talent for the most part.

Remember the above recommendations are primarily suited to be good for “most people”, specifically for “early to midgame” when gear drops can’t easily be tailor fit to your needs.

MORE DISCUSSION TO COME AS THE DAYS PASS!

Well that’s about it (FOR NOW) regarding Markus  Huntsman Career path in Vermintide 2. Huntsman provides some serious offensive buffs for the team! The crit aura is welcome, as well as the on-crit debuff. The Huntsman also brings some serious ranged support to the team – able to snipe distant enemies without “wasting” ammo.
