You’ll find all sorts of information here regarding the Battle Wizard Career (for Sienna Fuegonasus) in Vermintide 2. The Battle Wizard does consistent ranged damage and rewards careful play with Tranquility – leading to more reliable spell casting. Admittedly, it’s not a very flashy career, but it gets the job done.

Battle Wizard Starter Build | Early Game

This is meant to be a General purpose” build for the Battle Wizard which focuses on the early to midgame. I will be adding more specialized builds which require more heavy item support soon.

Battle Wizard “Starter / Early Game” Build – Talent Summary

Level “Best” Optional
5 Cauterize Wounds Fuelled by Fire
10 World Aflame Flickerform
15 Rechannel Centered
20 Soul Snare Seething Embers
25 Burnout Volans’ Quickening

Battle Wizard Starter / Early Game” Build – Talent Choice Discussion

L5 Talent - Voracious Conjuring

Cauterize Wounds (+20% healing) is probably better EARLY on. It’s a basic talent that I can never be sad to have. Depending on what it scales with, and other things, this may just be the best talent in this tier altogether.

Fueled by Fire (+Stamina) This could be the valid choice LATER on, to help with Tranquility. Blocks are an oft overlooked mechanic in this game…

Voracious Conjuring (Ranged -15%), well, this shouldn’t really be seen as a DPS increase but rather for “quicker reaction time”, I guess. I’m on the fence with this one.

L10 Talent - World Aflame

World Aflame (stacking dmg for each nearby enemy) is a basic damage increase when you eventually have to melee. 25% is a lot – I don’t know what else to say.

Flickerform (-stagger) is pretty good for disengaging and getting out of sticky situations. I can’t really imagine this pulling its weight on the average mission though.

Molten Skin (-dmg when last man standing) is just bad. 99.99% of your playtime you will never gain a benefit from it. Even if you do – will it be enough to salvage the mission?

L15 Talent - Rechannel / Centered

Centered (+ranged charge speed) almost halves ranged charge time makes for extremely potent damage windows and quality of life. It’s a powerful talent you’ll never be sad to take.

Rechannel (“Improves Tranquility”) is very vague – but it sounds good right? Needs more research.

Burning Vigour (-stam on block while Tranquil) may be a solid choice later on for bosses. It needs “some” support if you plan on blocking some of the heavier hits though.

L20 Talent - Soul Snare

Soul Snare (THP on kill) is the default choice FOR NOW since Battle Wizard doesn’t come with any critical hit built in.

Seething Embers (THP on hit) improves as our build gets more Crit. It’s a better choice versus bosses once you have a certain amount of Crit in your build.

Blazing Harvest (Heal on boss kill) and all talents like it – I really dislike.

L20 Talent - Burnout / Volans

Burnout removes all overcharge when using Firewalk, is a great combat trick to “keep on going”.

Volans’ Quickening is the usual cooldown reduction talent for Career Skills. 30% is nothing to scoff at. But Firewalk isn’t the most abusable of skills at times… I feel the choice between this and the above is up to personal preference.

Lava Walker extends the burn to 10 seconds which I personally dislike. It’s kind of hard to maximize versus bosses and overkill for most swarms. Try it out?

Remember the above recommendations are primarily suited to be good for “most people”, specifically for “early to midgame” when gear drops can’t easily be tailor fit to your needs.

MORE DISCUSSION TO COME AS THE DAYS PASS!

Well that’s about it (FOR NOW) regarding Sienna Feugonasus’ Battle Wizard Career path in Vermintide 2. Battle Wizard isn’t the most popular career, but it ain’t that bad. Venting overcharge means a whole lot of consistent ranged damage without using ammo – doing the most “ranged basic attacks” than her other career counterparts.
