You’ll find all sorts of information here regarding the Handmaiden Career (for Kerillian) in Vermintide 2. The Handmaiden is a strange spec that is heavily leaning to “support”. I have to say, its kit really helps prevent runs from turning sour. Remember that you can block and revive in this game – and PUSH enemies – Use your huge stamina pool!

Handmaiden Generic Build Template

This is meant to be a General purpose” build for the Handmaiden which focuses on the early to midgame. I will be adding more specialized builds which require more heavy item support soon.

Handmaiden “Starer / Early Game” Build – Talent Summary

Level “Best” Optional
5 Quiver of Plenty Either
10 Eldrazor’s Precision Triumph of the Cadai
15 Hukon’s Tenacity Either
20 Weavebond Khaine’s Thirst
25 Gift of Ladrielle Bladedance

Handmaiden “Starter / Early Game” Build – Talent Choice Discussion

L5 Talent - Quiver of Plenty

Quiver of Plenty (+ammunition) is the best choice for the “Generic runs”. Increased ammo is always welcome. In the early game a deeper ammo pool will save you from a lot of damage.

Wraithwillow Stance (30% block and push angle) is a very cool effect. I think this may have the highest impact later on in terms of “fulfilling why you want to use Handmaiden“. I wanna see how this works out in tryhard Handmaiden builds.

Asrai Vigour (+1 stamina) is interesting. As your build matures, that 1 Stamina pip may matter. The problem? It seems that it may be a waste of a talent slot seeing as some items may give this.

L10 Talent - Eldrazor's Precision

Eldrazor’s Precision is the “only choice” in this tier due to the poor alternatives. If you don’t want the drawback take any other talent.

Triumph of the Cadai (“recover” upon boss death) it seems really bad… I would never take this in its current state.

Defiance (-50% damage when Kerillian is alone). God. I get it, I get it… If you wanna be a hero take this… but don’t expect a miracle.

L15 Talent - Hukon's Tenacity

Hukon’s Tenacity (+Stamina Regen) has the “most noticeable impact”, oddly. While I dislike these talents usually – Handmaiden is a special case, and the other two talents are mobility based.

Shadowstep (+Dodge distance) and Gladerunner (+movespeed) are both great effects, just not the best for your kit.

I wouldn’t be sad taking any talent in this tier.

L20 Talent - Khaine's Thirst

Weavebond (THP on crit) is about as good as Khaine’s Thirst (THP on kill). Both have their ups and down, but if your build can support Weavebond go for it (so you don’t have to “share” the kills). Weavebond also works DURING bossfights. Khaine’s Thirst may be better in the extreme early game – and what I recommend for Handmaiden since you have no in-built crit.

Champion of Loren is pretty bad. Heal on boss kill is an underwhelming talent.

L20 Talent - Gift of Ladrielle

Gift of Ladrielle (Gain 3s Stealth on Dash) Oh boy. This one is great. If you’re gonna save people, this takes a lot of the stress away. You can make some serious clutch plays with this.

Handmaiden’s Grace (Reduces the cooldown of Dash by 30%.) I don’t think Dash is one of those skills you want to spam. I guess overall it’s not bad, but I’d sorely miss that Stealth.

Bladedance (Less Stagger on Dash) Staggers are a real pain. While this isn’t a bad effect, Gift of Ladrielle just seems more impactful.

Remember the above recommendations are primarily suited to be good for “most people”, specifically for “early to midgame” when gear drops can’t easily be tailor fit to your needs.

MORE DISCUSSION TO COME AS THE DAYS PASS!

Well that’s about it (FOR NOW) regarding Kerillian Handmaiden Career path in Vermintide 2. I’m oddly excited to make a tryhard Handmaiden build with block/stamina talents haha. These heavy stamina investments really force you to “play a unique way” that isn’t present in most classes. It’s a cute spec that has its place – remember the Handmaiden the next time your team wipes.
