Waystalker Generic Build Template

This is meant to be a General purpose” build for the Waystalker which focuses on the early to midgame. I will be adding more specialized builds which require more heavy item support soon.

Waystalker “General Purpose” Build – Talent Summary

Level “Best” Optional
5 Morai-Heg’s Scorn Fury of Anath Raema
10 Daughter of the Hunt Arcane Bodkins
15 Rejuvenating Locus Isha’s Embrace
20 Khaine’s Thirst Weavebond
25 Kurnous’ Blessing Lifebloom Arrows

Waystalker “General Purpose” Build – Talent Choice Discussion

L5 Talent - Morai-Heg's Scorn (+10 Crit)

Morai-Heg’s Scorn (+5 critical chance) is just “plain good”. Nothing fancy, but effective none the less.

Fury of Anath Raema (5 ASPD) is better only if the totality of your build wants more ASPD than Crit.

Hukon’s Tenacity (30% stamina regen) is so-so. If you’re the type to block a lot I suppose…

L10 Talent - Daughter of the Hunt (above 25%HP, crit hits +30%)

Daughter of the Hunt (Above 25% HP, Critical hit severity is increased by 30%) is hard to activate early on, but powerful. The more Crit your gear eventually gets, the better this will be.

Arcane Bodkins may be better in the extremely early game, or in certain scenarios with high ASPD – it’s actually not so bad.

Ironfeather Flights (Boss kills give 30% ammo back) is pretty meh. It doesn’t really do much in terms of increasing your success rate “per mission”.

L15 Talent - Rejuvenating Locus

Rejuvenating Locus (Regeneration applies to party but effect is halved) – I was initially down on this talent but its probably the safest stress reducing choice early on.

Isha’s Embrace (increases regeneration) isn’t bad either – helps give your team more health regen items as a whole and almost nullifies the need for self-healing items.

Vaul’s Quiver (regeneration also gives bolt or arrow) I initially liked this but it felt “nearly useless”. I suppose it depends how greedy your team is with ammo – leading to difficult special monster kills.

L20 Talent -Weavebond or Khain'es Thirst

Weavebond (THP on crit) is about as good as Khaine’s Thirst (THP on kill). Both have their ups and down but if your build can support Weavebond go for it (so you don’t have to “share” the kills). Weavebond also works DURING bossfights. Khaine’s Thirst may be better in the extreme early game.

Champion of Loren is pretty bad. Heal on boss kill is an underwhelming talent.

L25 Talent - Kurnous' Blessing (Trueshot gives ammo)

ALL OF THESE ARE GOOD AT DIFFERENT TIMES.

Kurnous’ Blessing (Trueshot reloads 20% ammo) is my favorite, I guess. Seeing as you can Trueshot DURING boss-fights to refill and keep shooting. It’s never bad to have more ammo.

Asrai Focus (-30% recharge on Trueshot) is a welcome boost. Don’t be careless with it, however. Just because you can use it more, don’t FORCE yourself to use it on CD.

Lifebloom Arrows is great in the early and midgame, but kinda falls off later on when you can self-heal more reliably. Early on, its a great crutch when you’re struggling forward.

Remember the above recommendations are primarily suited to be good for “most people”, specifically for “early to midgame” when gear drops can’t easily be tailor fit to your needs.

MORE DISCUSSION TO COME AS THE DAYS PASS!

Well that’s about it (FOR NOW) regarding  Kerillians’ Waystalker Career path in Vermintide 2. The Waystalker is popular for a reason – it’s “anti-stress” mechanics and it being the default Kerillian career have a lot to do with it, I presume.

  1. Just wanted to say that Daughter of the Hunt is now above 45% health, and not 25%!
Its a “small” thing, fully depending on whether you use it or not, but its an important thing to keep in mind.

  2. Thank you for making an ACTUAL guide for Waystalker, and not just some shitty clickbait that tells me what the 3 subclasses are.
